Home.Stead

Family

A glorious new addition to the Field’s Corner/Greater Ashmont neighborhood of Dorchester is the Home.Stead Cafe at the southeast corner of Dot and Adams. Although they have been open for two months, today is their official grand opening. Rachel and Linus are regulars, and Greg joins them when his work schedule permits. Today one of the owners, Jack, greeted us at the door and scooped up Linus to help him pick out a coloring book and crayons while we decided on which of the yummy baked goods to  enjoy with our coffee.

After a delicious repast, much good conversation, a bit of hobnobbing with other customers and with Jack, we ordered some to-go sandwiches. Time to walk home with the little one with a bit of puddle splashing along the way.

Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history.
