Typically the day after Deck Day a few friends/family linger to help clean up even as we continue to party. This year the two of us changed things up even as more folks opted to linger a day longer. Karen was a good citizen and left early this morning to appear at the federal courthouse in Asheville for jury duty. As it turns out the defense in this drugs and guns case wasn’t interested in an outspoken pharmacist on the jury so she was free by early afternoon. Steve had to travel to Franklin for an important appointment. Meanwhile our guests participated cleanup, puzzles, and card games until we returned then plied us with food and drink, made music, and danced well into the night! The best Post-Deck Day party ever!
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
