Battery Transplant

Road Trip

In anticipation of boondocking opportunities to come, we brought Gigi to Waynesville’s Interstate Battery Center this morning for a battery transplant. We’ve upgraded to a Group 29 deep cycle marine battery which should provide us around 100 amp hours of power. Translated that means we should be able to camp without electric hookup and run our refrigerator all night then recharge with our solar panels or Honda generator during the day. We’ll test it out in the driveway over the next couple of days then in campgrounds in the weeks to come comparing our needs to our new capabilities but we should be in much better shape than we were last summer when we dry camped on the Blue Ridge Parkway and needed to transfer our food to our collapsible ice chest!

In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
