It’s the official end of Deck Day with the departure this morning of the last of our houseguests. Mary lingered longer than the others because she could, because she’s now retired, because we were delighted to host her. She reminded us of the benefits of massage as well as the hot tub. She reminded us to hydrate and instructed us in some massage technique. And we listened. As we enjoy our first day alone together since the house party began, we’re putting her suggestions into practice. And we’re spending time on the deck just listening to the mountain streams with a libation in hand. It was a glorious party but we’re now happily alone in our personal retreat!
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
Nothing better than the sound of nature.
