Dennison Railroad Museum

Road Trip

What a treasure! Dennison OH was a division point on the Pennsylvania Railroad and every train that passed through stopped there. During World War II local volunteers and the Salvation Army operated a canteen that ultimately served 1.3 million servicemen from 1942 to 1946. The community rallied to preserve this historic landmark and it is now a well curated museum that appeals to all ages. We met Peyton, Riley, and Rhonda there today and had a wonderful time travel experience. We explored many aspects not only of train travel but of everyday life in America over the last hundred years. It was an opportunity to tell family stories that related to certain exhibits and reflect on certain aspects of American history. An afternoon well spent!

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.
