Down by the Riverside

2016 Out West, Minnesota, Road Trip

It started out as a plan to drive to St Cloud to get the F-150 serviced at the Ford dealership but when Yelp! yielded the information that Bill’s Standard Service in downtown Little Falls was an option the plan changed. We dropped the truck off locally then went in search of breakfast. We found A.T. The Black and White. Wow! Owners Amanda & Tomas are trained chefs and it shows. French toast stuffed with cream cheese and topped with fruit and maple syrup or a pulled pork breakfast burrito! We also had a chance to wander some of the local parkland alongside the Mississippi including the dam that powers a 4.5 MW hydroelectric generating plant. Oh yeah, and we found a few geocaches!

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
