The Party Begins

Road Trip

The teardrop trailer count tonight is three. We gave Michael and Jeff enough time for set up before popping by for a visit. After a bit of show and tell including tours of the Magic Chef ice maker, the Cabela kitchen cupboard, and the Rtic cooler we settled in for a round of adult beverages. Later we four wandered down to join Allen and Cari around their campfire and to meet Bob of Bob & Ann, the fourth set of arrivals. We also got a tour of Allen & Cari’s RV Chandelier. Wow!  A fun start to what promises to be a great week!

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
