Afoot in Rapid City

2016 Out West, Road Trip, South Dakota

It was a delightful evening with Ryan and Jana. We joined them at their house for a delicious bbq dinner from the emerging Rapid City food truck scene then ventured into nearby downtown. A quick stop into Who’s Toy House, ice cream from Silver Lining Creamery savored  while enjoying the ambiance of Main Street Square, a quick trip into Prairie Edge Gallery,  our first visit to Art Alley, and a geocache, our first with Ryan, who is responsible for our introduction to the hobby. And the great news is we’re planning another visit with them tomorrow!

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
