This natural Lake Couer d’Alene in northern Idaho is absolutely gorgeous. We camped south of here last night and came into town this morning to explore and to run a few errands. Didn’t know we had picked one of the busiest weekends of the summer. Iron Man Coeur d’Alene is tomorrow and downtown is crazy busy and several streets are blocked off. We were still able to make our way to Spokane Power Tools to get routine service for our generator, get some delicious sandwiches and mountain berry tea at Bakery By The Lake at Parkside, explore the downtown lakefront park, find a geocache, and stop at the local IGA to snag some groceries. Time now to head back to the quiet of the forest!
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
Ever since its debut on Broadway the two of us have wanted to see “Wicked the Musical”. Today we realized that dream. In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
