For those of us that travel by the seats of our pants, weekends in high season present a challenge. We try to identify campgrounds that might be less popular and to arrive early in the afternoon. Today we headed west from Newhalem, stopped at the Cascadian Farm Produce Stand for Raspberry Chip Ice Cream, coffee, vine ripened cherry tomatoes, and fresh sweet corn out in the middle of some gorgeous farm fields. Took the opportunity to call Elsie to order a couple of things for the T@B and chatted pleasantly for a bit. She requested more scenery pictures! We made our way to Sedro-Woolley’s Riverfront RV Park and got Site #19 for one night. If the place had shade we’d consider staying longer. But it gave us the opportunity to retreat into the air conditioned T@B for a siesta before venturing into downtown for Cherry Pie ala Mode, admiring the street art, and grabbing a Geocache smiley.
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
