We started in Ellensburg after a cuppa, a bit of fruit, and a little cheese. And headed north on US-97 past some glorious scenery.

And signs of the local fruit industry. Into the Bavarian themed community of Leavenworth and sampled the fare at Home Fires Bakery inside Dan’s Market. The pastries were amazing. We devoured some and bought more for the road.

We stopped in Peshastin for some fresh peaches and some unusual wines.

And in Cashmere for additional groceries.

We braved the streets of Wenathee for a geocache at an Albertson’s. We hadn’t seen one of those in a few years.

And we passed up the opportunity to turn down Easy Street!

We approached Lake Chelan.

Honked as we drove through the tunnel.

Then over the bridge into the Beebe Bridge Park.

Which we made our home for the night. Spent the afternoon and evening in the T@B kitchen cooking up some of the groceries for a dinner of baked chicken, caramelized onions, sautéed potatoes, and fresh tomatoes and a few days of easy meal prep. And enjoyed a long phone conversation with Greg. Just got to love the scenery and the fact that Site #5 is probably the shadiest in the park

In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.
