After yesterday’s bust we reconnoitered and decided to do a deliberately long day today. Out of Oregon and into the California Redwoods.  A stop at the post office and general store in O’Brien

and another one at The Redwoods Visitors Center.

A pause along the coast,

and another to take the measure of some giants

After a set up on Site R-A at Redwoods Coast Cabins & RV Resort. Sound fancy? It’s no fancier than when it was a KOA when we stayed here in 2014. We enjoyed some Lost Coast brews and a bit of dinner before heading out for desserts at Cafe Mokka and a soak in the Finnish hot tubs behind the coffeehouse.

After a thoroughly relaxing hour there we walked two blocks through Arcata streets lit by the almost full moon to the retired railroad crossing gate where Lou had the opportunity to locate one of our all time favorite geocaches!

We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.

In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.
