The journey south along the coast is behind us and our eastbound journey is ahead. After several days of traveling twisty coastal roads and after studying the maps, we are opting for interstate travel for smoother grades and longer curves. We’re using overdrive and driving at less than the speed limit and our gas mileage is better than what we’ve achieved recently. We also opted for the northern route so we headed up I-15 to Barstow then to the western terminus of I-40, the major east west artery connecting California to North Carolina, the interstate nearest Tween Creeks. Immediately we knew we were trekking back to base camp for we saw a sign advising that it’s 2,554 miles to Wilmington NC!
Winter Magic in Medina
By deliberate choice we were in Medina for all the winter holiday festivities from Candlelight Walk in the days before Thanksgiving through A Christmas Carol and A Celtic Christmas as well as an Alex Bevan Concert and a historic house tour all the way through Medina’s 31st Ice Festival but perhaps the highlight was the town hosting hundreds of folks whose homes and lives were devasted by Hurricane Helene at the A Promise of Christmas Event the middle of January. It’s an honor to be a part of this amazing community!
