This morning is a good time to move on. The KOA is packed with weekend revelers including some who believe that the ban on campfires doesn’t apply to them. And the forecast is for red flag conditions, hot, dry, and windy. So we are traveling east through the fertile Santa Clara Valley marveling at the lush orchards and fields. Noticing farm stands offering oranges, avocados, pistachios, and more. We pulled into Francisco’s Fruits just outside of Fillmore and got some goodies for ourselves. Local tomatoes, strawberries, Asian pears, and dried apples, strawberries, vegetable chips, and pistachios. We’re in snacking heaven!
Winter Magic in Medina
By deliberate choice we were in Medina for all the winter holiday festivities from Candlelight Walk in the days before Thanksgiving through A Christmas Carol and A Celtic Christmas as well as an Alex Bevan Concert and a historic house tour all the way through Medina’s 31st Ice Festival but perhaps the highlight was the town hosting hundreds of folks whose homes and lives were devasted by Hurricane Helene at the A Promise of Christmas Event the middle of January. It’s an honor to be a part of this amazing community!
