After some deliberation and a stop at the Visitors Center at Port Angeles for information, we decided to make the drive up to the highest point in Olympic National Park, Hurricane Ridge. The ranger told us that at the entrance they would not permit more vehicles to enter than the parking lot can accommodate. What he did not tell us was that on this Sunday of Labor Day weekend we would get caught in a line of waiting cars stretching a mile back from the gate.
Cuyahoga Valley National Park
Over a long weekend we sampled some of the myriad things to do in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, unique among national parks for it’s environmental reclamation, historic preservation, and recreational opportunities adjacent to the populous cities of Cleveland and Akron in northeastern Ohio. Can’t wait to return and explore more.
