Just Hanging Out

2016 Out West, California, Road Trip

A nice and gentle day in Mountain View starting with visiting over our coffee, tea, and breakfast. Meg told us about her responsibilities as a new Third Grade teacher. The conversation turned to binoculars so Lou brought out her collection and shared her expertise inspiring us to head out to the local REI store. In the process Lou discovered she had a need to go shopping for a new automotive battery. Our Rugged Geek battery came in handy during the process! While we shopped for binoculars Meg popped next door for bedding for the classroom guinea pig. Next was a Chipotle Grill meal enjoyed al fresco followed by a group geocache find. Back at the apartment we worked on driftwood and found objects art while sipping wine, watched an episode of Tiny House Nation, enjoyed tuna patties and salad for dinner finished off with lavendar chocolates. Then Lou and Meg addressed one of the deficiencies of our pop culture education and queued up the 1974 film, Young Frankenstein!

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.
