The route from San Luis Obispo to Santa Paula took us through stunning scenery and along gorgeous beaches.

Our plan had been to stay ay Hobson Beach but no electric sites were available and with plans to be away from the T@B for several hours tomorrow we deferred on the dry camping option. Instead we called the Santa Paula KOA. We were lucky that that besides tonight they still had an opening for Friday night. As we headed away from Hobson we were amazed by the huge number of large RVs set up for dry camping in a long line between the highway and the beach. Beyond that we stopped to get out and just look at this beach so close to Santa Barbara. Gigi just wants to be a beach babe! But we headed inland and set up at the KOA in Steckle Park. We did go into town, got some ice cream, wandered around downtown, and found a geocache. Santa Paula is in the middle of an agricultural region. It calls itself the Citrus Capital of the World! Back at the T@B we were delighted when a peacock stopped by for a visit!

Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Over a long weekend we sampled some of the myriad things to do in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, unique among national parks for it’s environmental reclamation, historic preservation, and recreational opportunities adjacent to the populous cities of Cleveland and Akron in northeastern Ohio. Can’t wait to return and explore more.

Slow Journey Home

Slow Journey Home

Our journey from Portsmouth, England to our home in Ohio might have been accomplished in about sixteen hours but my avoiding air travel we were able to enjoy a fifteen day journey home via train, ship, Uber, train, as well as our own feet and finally our personal vehicle.

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard

It’s been a fascinating two day visit to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. We managed to pack in tours of the HMS Warrior, the HMS Victory as well ast Victory Live: The
Big Repair, and finally the Mary Rose. All were incredibly informative and well presented.
