Another Day, Another Adventure

2016 Out West, Missouri, Road Trip

After a lovely morning with friends in Arkansas we ventured north into Missouri. We paused for an overnight at Happy Trails RV Park, a dinner at Elm Street Eatery, and a geocache at the public library in Lebanon, Missouri.

Although our route of travel is primarily I-44, we traveled Historic Route 66 into town. It’s been a great run from LA to here popping on and off The Mother Road. We have a few more miles before St Louis where we will peel off from the historic route.

It may have been a day primarily of  highway travel but it’s through a part of the country we’d never before visited! What an adventure!

Wicked The Musical

Wicked The Musical

Ever since its debut on Broadway the two of us have wanted to see “Wicked the Musical”. Today we realized that dream. In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
