2016 Out West, Road Trip

For three nights we’ve enjoyed Mike and Sharon’s driveway as our campsite complete with power hookup, indoor seating, great conversation, freshly brewed coffee, breakfast each morning, and guided tours of the area. The weather has been dicey. The first evening here we had a tremendous amount of rain and some uncomfortably close lightning. Then for two days the sun hid behind the clouds and we kept umbrellas and raincoats handy. Finally this morning the weather is beautiful and we’ve been able to enjoy their multiple outdoor sitting areas! Besides all the aforementioned advantages to this campsite, this has been an opportunity to get to know this wonderful couple better! Thank you, Sharon and Mike for the gracious hospitality!

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.
