Tuesday morning we hugged Linus and Rachel goodbye then trekked with Greg to their local T station and on to South Station where we got hugs from him then climbed aboard the Quiet Car on the Northeast Regional. At New York Penn Station we enjoyed good food and libations at Kabooz’s then waited in the Amtrak lounge for The Crescent which finally departed an hour late. Nearly the entire trip from Boston south to Greenville was in the rain. So grateful that we were ensconced in our tiny private little space for the journey. After we debarked at 6AM, we found coffee and breakfast at a nearby Waffle House. Now we’re back at Tween Creeks. Our task today is to unpack and catch up on sleep. Tomorrow we’ll begin preparing for the next departure!
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
