Lunch & Hike II

Family

Last week’s adventure was so much fun we just had to do it again. Jim & Sharon met us for lunch at Kosta’s, the Greek restaurant in Dillsboro. From there we headed into the Smokies. We stopped at the Oconaluftee Visitors Center and walked through the outdoor farm museum commenting on memories of visits here in decades past. Then on to the park of the park once owned by the Mingus family.  Jim works as a volunteer miller at another historic mill so he was interested in what he could see of the mill machinery.

We capped off our two mile hike along Mingus Creek Trail with an ice cream treat on Back Street in Dillsboro. Next get together will hopefully be in February!

We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.

Wicked The Musical

In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.
