It’s probably the last gorgeous day of fall, tomorrow promises to be cold and windy enough to blow the last of the autumn leaves to the ground. We left the house just after breakfast with a long list of things to do. We’re now arriving home in the dark with only a portion of the list accomplished because things always take longer than planned. We only got one errand run before meeting a friend at Trailhead Cafe in Waynesville. We loved lingering over lunch but soon were back working on and adding to the list. When we discovered that Best Buy had the iPhone we’d been seeking we took the time to trade in our older one to get this one with an awesome camera. We also seized the opportunity to get a haircut and to shop Belk’s for some clothing essentials and new duffle bags for next week’s trip. Â We did accomplish a lot but there’s still a lot left that will have to wait until Monday…
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
