Taking Penelope Home

Road Trip

As we have traveled with her, this particular prototype unit of the T@B 400 has taken on the name of Penelope. Today was the last leg of the journey to take Penelope home. We delayed our departure from Wytheville this morning because of freezing fog conditions and as we traveled north into Ohio we saw increasing signs of winter from frost in the trees to remnants of last week’s snow to icy perimeters on the ponds.

As we drove into Sugarcreek we saw farm fields covered in sheets of ice. We parked Penelope on the grounds at the factory, hooked up the 30 amp connection, turned the ALDE onto max heat, and headed to Dutch Valley for a dinner of Amish meatloaf.

Back at the trailer we enjoyed our last evening At Home on the Road including a few games of solitaire at the dinette table. It’s been a great two weeks living in this trailer, testing the systems, and evaluating the design. One more sleep then we get to meet with the design team.

Burgh House Hampstead

Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.

Wicked The Musical

Wicked The Musical

Ever since its debut on Broadway the two of us have wanted to see “Wicked the Musical”. Today we realized that dream. In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.
