Mardi Gras! No we didn’t travel to NOLA for the much acclaimed festival but rather to Maggie Valley to gather with about forty friends to enjoy food and fellowship on this last weekend before the season of Lent begins. It’s a glorious day. The daffodils are in bloom. And to top off this adventure, four of us just stopped to get ourselves some frozen yogurt!
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
