Our purpose in making a spur of the moment decesion to travel to Texas is to be a part of the support system for Karen’s dad, Bud. After ninety healthy years he’s facing some unexpected challenges. One of the things we enjoy doing with Bud is getting him remembering and telling stories from his past. Today he got talking about his earliest memory of riding a tricycle at about the age of three at the house on Macklem Avenue. He still has some vivid memeries of this place even though his family moved from there eighty-six years ago!
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
