It’s become tradition to gather on the deck on the days leading up to Deck Day. Tonight twelve of us gathered for a dinner on the deck. We sampled some of the menu offerings for Deck Day and a few special items like the Caprese Salad and the decadent flourless chocolate cake that Lou and Peggy brought. And then there was the Wine Zinfadel tasting. The overall order of preference was Beringer, Biltmore, and Sutter Home. Then as we were cleaning up, one more party goer arrived. We are now thirteen. At least four more out of towners are expected to arrive over the next two days. It’s a party!
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
