Summer Solstice Sunset

Family

Tropical Storm Cindy altered our plans. When we realized this morning that the storm path would intersect our route from Texas to North Carolina, we made a quick decision to leave as soon as possible. It’s been a long day of hard driving. We’ve made just two quick multipurpose stops and one interstate rest area stop. So far we’ve experienced only a little bit of rain and wind. By the time we reach Crossville TN where we have a hotel reservation, we will have traveled for nearly thirteen hours. That’s something we never do, but hopefully we will still be ahead of the storm in the morning. One benefit of the storm is that the heavy cloud cover created conditions conducive for a glorious sunset on this longest day of the year!

Mother Nature is possibly responsible for the saying, “never say never”. She was however, kind enough to give you sufficient daylight and a wonderful sunset. Continue to avoid the long miles in short time travels.
