And the Shoe Fits

2017 New England, Ohio, Road Trip

The search for the perfect shoe has yielded success! A pair of Ahnu Montara IIs have served Karen well for nearly two years of daily wear. They’re waterproof but breathable, comfortable and stable. They look good enough for city streets and perform well on back country trails. In a recent session of trying on other shoes, nothing felt quite right. Today we found a pair at the REI at Rookwood Commons! No, we don’t have plans to find another shoe tree. We left the shoes behind for the REI garage sale.

Over a long weekend we sampled some of the myriad things to do in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, unique among national parks for it’s environmental reclamation, historic preservation, and recreational opportunities adjacent to the populous cities of Cleveland and Akron in northeastern Ohio. Can’t wait to return and explore more.

Slow Journey Home

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard

It’s been a fascinating two day visit to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. We managed to pack in tours of the HMS Warrior, the HMS Victory as well ast Victory Live: The
Big Repair, and finally the Mary Rose. All were incredibly informative and well presented.
