Butterscotch Pudding

2017 New England, Ohio, Road Trip

Sarah invited us to visit behind the scenes at Dutch Creek Foods this morning to watch the process of preparing bulk foods from scratch. DCF is the central kitchen for several of the restaurants here in Ohio’s Amish country. Today’s project was Butterscotch Pudding/Pie Filling. Oh, the quality ingredients we saw going into the pot! It was truly homemade pudding – just on a grand scale and with quality control measures in place. Beyond that Sarah took us on a tour of the warehouse including the walk in refrigerator. Incredible stores of high quality foods that are served in the Dutchman Hospitality Restaurants. Lucky us, we left with samples of the pudding and some Amish Peanut Butter Spread. Back at üCamp17 we shared spoonfuls of the amazing pudding with friends until we ran out of clean spoons! Thank you Sarah, each time we return to Dutch Valley Restaurant we will be thinking of you and your coworkers as we savor yummy salad dressings, sauces, and pie fillings that you have lovingly crafted behind the scenes!

Wicked The Musical

Ever since its debut on Broadway the two of us have wanted to see “Wicked the Musical”. Today we realized that dream. In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
