The oldest house in Gettysburg, Dobbin House was built in 1776. It’s as old as the Declaration of Independence. Today it is Dobbin House Tavern where one can enjoy fine dining in candlelit elegance. Beth served us a sumptuous prime rib dinner at Table 44 in the Library, pretty cool for a couple who met in a library and is celebrating their 44th anniversary! After sharing a triple layer chocolate cake for dessert we slipped downstairs to the tavern/casual dining area then upstairs to the mini-museum, and mid-stairs to see the cubby holes where escaped slaves once hid when this house was a stop on the Underground Railroad.
