What to do on a rainy day in Otsego County? Explore Cooperstown, of course. We first thought of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and that it was the hometown of a high school friend so that’s where we headed. Found some on street parking and walked the couple of blocks to enjoy a pleasant couple of hours immersing ourselves in the history of America’s pastime. Then on the recommendation of our campground host, we lunched at the Hawkeye Grill at The Otesaga on the shore of Otsego Lake or Glimmerglass in the novels of James Fenimore Cooper. There’s much more to explore here on another sunnier day.
