The building in the distance is the Jackson Building in downtown Asheville, NC. We’re dining on tapas at Capellas on 9, in the new AC Hotel by Marriott where we’re splurging on a two day birthday celebration. In a little while we’ll watch the rise of the full super moon over the mountains!
That one was:
Capella Hamburguesa: grass fed pork and beef sliders, piquillo peppers, manchego, arugula aioli. It was followed by Croquetas De Gambas: shrimp croquets, romesco sauce, fried garlic. The next night we started with Costillitas De Res: rioja braised short rib, farrotto, butternut squash, rosemary parmesan. But the very best was a special that night, Lamb Sliders. Since it was a special, we don’t have access to it’s Spanish name but it was an amazing treat for the tastebuds!
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
Ever since its debut on Broadway the two of us have wanted to see “Wicked the Musical”. Today we realized that dream. In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
And the flight of what kind of sandwiches?
