This giant old fashioned iron sculpture graces the corner of Wall Street and Battery Park in downtown Asheville, NC. We’ve seen it a number of times but never stopped to learn why it’s here until today after our breakfast at Early Girl Eatery and before more adventures. Perhaps some relaxation at our downtown hotel, poking through the Grove Arcade, perhaps a museum, maybe a coffee shop or yarn store. So many possibilities!
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
