Anticipation

Road Trip

Our T@B has been sitting in the driveway since mid-October, way way too long. It’s time for an outing so we’re getting her ready to hit the road for a two week trip. In anticipation we spent last night sleeping in our amazingly comfortable camper bed listening to rain on the roof. This morning we can see blue skies through the stargazer above our bed as we linger for a few more minutes before beginning to tackle the Things to Do list that will allow us to hit the road tomorrow.

Wow – does this ever speak to us! Our T@BOO42 has been under cover in storage since last September! We have at least a month before we too will be snug as a bug in a T@B for a camping adventure. In the meantime – we’ll have to live vicariously thanks to your travel stories. H@ppy Tr@ils to you both!

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
