Yes, Goats on the Roof is a genuine tourist trap complete with a blue dyed waterfall, a fudge shop, plenty of kitschy souvenirs, and a small herd of goats that are well trained to expect a hand out from any and all humans. But there’s a redeeming feature, they serve some amazing ice cream! We made our selections from the list of Weird Flavors (actually great flavors with weird names). Then we got to watch each of our ice cream orders being frozen with liquid nitrogen! So literally cool! We lingered on a porch swing savoring our sweet treats and watching the goats enjoy their treats on a beautiful blue sky afternoon!
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
