The clouds parted long enough for us to enjoy Champagne Breakfast Sunday, one of our Deck Day traditions, and a great opportunity to celebrate special occasions. Today we are toasting Bill who retired last month and headed out on a cross country road trip from tNew Mexico to Texas to Florida to North Carolina. From here he’ll visit Ohio before heading west again. Later in the day the rains started again but that didn’t dampen the fun. Folks gathered under the canopy to play Catch Phrase or in the living room to cut a rug when not actively involved in smoking the pork under another canopy or engaged otherwise in preparing the feast.
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
