Greenway Cottage

Family, International, Ireland

When we arrived at Greenway Cottage in Dungarvan yesterday afternoon, our hostess Catherine was waiting for us on the sidewalk ready to show us around our home for the night. It’s been a great stay here on the quay. Yesterday was sunny and last evening was perfect weather for a stroll all around the harbor. This morning we’ve got rain as we nosh on a bit of breakfast, clean up after ourselves, and pack the Tiguan for our trip into Dublin today. We did linger for a few minutes before departure to play a couple rounds of multi-handed Solitaire, a family tradition! Greenway is the last of our AirBnB stays. It’s been a great way to experience Ireland.

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
