North of Knoxville

2018 West, Road Trip, Tennessee

We’ve stayed here before, in fact it was ten years ago this month, on the first leg of our 35th Anniversary cross country tent camping trip. This time at the Clinton/Knoxville North KOA we’re sandwiched in between big RVs in a full hookups pull through site. Usually we choose KOAs when we need to do laundry or are yearning for full hookups and a long leisurely shower. Tonight it was for the location and an easy in and out. We didn’t leave the house until three this afternoon so north of Knoxville was a long enough drive and still puts us close enough to reach northern Indiana tomorrow. A bit of rain kept us from firing up the charcoal grill so we’re doing grill night indoors. Steak, pork chops, chicken, corn on the cob, and summer squash one after the other in our Bugaboo Frypan each lending flavor to the next and making a stash of cooked food for the next few days. All the white we’re exchanging messages with our T@B buddies Jeff & Michael as they enjoy the first night of the maiden voyage for their new T@B 400!

We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.

Wicked The Musical

Wicked The Musical

Ever since its debut on Broadway the two of us have wanted to see “Wicked the Musical”. Today we realized that dream. In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.
