Goose Island, it’s a LaCrosse County Park that we found on the AllStays Camp & RV app. We gambled that we could arrive without a reservation on this Thursday afternoon in August and get a campsite and it paid off! We got #170, an electric only site right on the water! Went into LaCrosse, Wisconsin for dinner at The Waterfront. We arrived in time for Happy Hour and five dollar hamburgers to go with some great craft brews! Now it’s time to just wander the waterfront and to watch the traffic on the Mississippi River.
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
Nice photos. I like the idea of watching river traffic.
