Waterford in the Rain

Family, International, Ireland

It’s a short journey into the historic town of Waterford and we were able to find some on-street parking just a short distance from the Waterford Crystal showroom. We popped open our umbrellas and wended our way past the luxury motor coach tour buses (We abbreviate that to LCMs.) and into the lobby. Thought maybe we’d start with some refreshment but the cafe was full of folks wearing their tour name tags. Instead of taking a tour of the glassworks we watched the short video and then browsed the gift shop. The crystal is indeed breathtaking! A couple of us purchased some gifts and then we availed ourselves the lull between tour groups and savored some yummy pastries and tea in the cafe before heading out into the misty morning and more adventures.

Burgh House Hampstead

Burgh House Hampstead

Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
