Cascadian Farm Roadside Stand

2018 West, Road Trip, Washington

There was no way we were even going to try to resist this treat. We remembered stopping at Cascadian Farm on our last trip to Washington State and delighting in the delicious ice cream crafted on the farm as well as the glorious views and warm sunshine. We were ready for a repeat. When we walked into the little shop the gentlemen ahead of us advised us not to look at what they were getting. So of course we had to also get the shortcake topped with blueberries, ice cream, and whipped cream. One of us went for blueberry ice cream and the other for chocolate chip ice cream. Both were great combinations. Chloe was also happy to sell us some delicious heirloom cherry tomatoes and gifted us with a sticker for the side of our T@B 400. If you ever find yourself on WA-20 between Marblemount and Rockport, we highly recommend an ice cream stop at Cascadian Farm!

In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
