Seattle traffic is not our favorite thing. We decided that when we visited for the first time in 2008. And that time we weren’t towing a trailer in the rain. We did deliberately choose Saturday morning for our trip south and routed ourselves east of the city on I-305. That route worked well for us on a Sunday morning two years ago. However this morning we probably lingered a little longer in Washington Park than we should have. We gave the messy traffic time to develop. The trip from Anacortes to Nisqually should have taken two and a half, not four hours! But we made it. Time to find Riverbend Campground, settle in and get the laundry done before tomorrow’s adventures.
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
