Our plans to just relax and watch the sun set this evening were revised when we learned that there would be a laser light show at Grand Coulee Dam this evening. We decided to take advantage of the opportunity and headed to the dam as dusk began to settle. We went down to the picnic area and just as dark began to fold around us the spillways were opened to provide a screen for the presentation. That in itself was pretty awesome. As the show started we repositioned so we could hear the public address speakers and settled onto the grass to watch One River, Many Voices. There was one point at which the show was upstaged by the deer behind us feeding on the grass and on leaves of a tree, just barely within reach of the does!
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
