Brilliant stars shining through our Stargazer window, just above our bed awakened us this morning just after 5:30 AM and propelled us out of bed, into warm clothes, and out the door of our T@B into an amazing nightscape here in the Alabama Hills of California. The nearly full moon had set, there’s no city lights here, just amazing starlight. In an attempt to capture the magic we tested the limits of our photographic capability. Our Sony is capable of capturing great photos in very low light but our tripod is not stable enough for 30 second exposures. None of the starlight photos were worth keeping but we got a few good ones in the early light of sunrise!
