Francisco’s Fruits

2018 West, California, Road Trip

Today we had an errand to run. We visited the UPS store in Santa Paula, California to fill out our absentee ballots in the presence of a notary public and put them in the mail. Then we treated ourselves to a drive through the Santa Clara Valley to Francisco’s Fruits to load up on their incredibly delicious Dried Strawberries. We bought every single bag they had in the store today! We had fallen in love with them on a visit here two years ago. We also came away with fresh strawberries, pecans, licorice, and a Mexican candy. Lots of goodies for future snacks but we were hankering for one more immediate treat so we stopped by Anne’s Doughnuts where we shared the best eclair and apple fritter we’ve ever tasted accompanied by good coffee and friendly service! After that we headed back to the T@B for a quiet evening and a colorful sunset.

We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.

Wicked The Musical

Ever since its debut on Broadway the two of us have wanted to see “Wicked the Musical”. Today we realized that dream. In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.
