Welcome to Gigi’s

Florida, Road Trip

Way back in our courtship days, the two of us loved to go to Gigi’s for pizza, it was the only place we knew of that offered green olives as a pizza topping. Since then the original Pasadena, Florida location has closed but lucky for us the Newberne family still runs this wonderful Italian restaurant mini-chain and they have a location on Fourth Street North in St Petersburg, Florida, very convenient to our friend Vivian’s house where we often stay when we return to our former hometown. We timed our arrival today so that we could dine with Vivian here and take advantage of Gigi’s Wine Wednesday so we could nosh on delicious food, enjoy some Sangria, and catch up on one another’s lives as the first stage of our midwinter retreat to the sunshine.

We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.

Wicked The Musical

Ever since its debut on Broadway the two of us have wanted to see “Wicked the Musical”. Today we realized that dream. In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.
