An internet article published in August of last year described a plan to bring high speed internet to our neighborhood. Western Carolina University who is our electricity provider has entered into a contract with Morris Broadband to bring high speed internet to the their electricity customers within eighteen months. WCU Electric trimmed trees in our area last month in preparation. Yesterday we saw a crew on our neighbor’s property installing lines and today the crew came up our road! Looks like we might be moving into the 21st Century within the twelvemonth!

It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
