A Bit of Gunpowder

Family

Gunpowder for St Paddy’s Day? Maybe not so inappropriate as it might sound. Karen discovered Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford back in August. Our friends Stan & Mary invited us to their house for a delicious Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner to celebrate the feast of Ireland’s patron saint. We brought the bottle of gin, named for the Gunpowder Green Tea that is one of the predominant botanicals in this craft gin created at The Shed Distillery in the heart of Ireland. We broke the seal, poured a bit on the rocks, and each person took a sip before mixing it. Every one of us opted to enjoy on the rocks. Our next challenge will be to find a source on this side of the Atlantic!
