Grand Traverse Mall and More

2019 West Again, Michigan, Road Trip, States

Last evening when we arrived at the local state park, Sally and Max popped over for a visit and to plan our Thursday. On previous visits Sally has been an excellent tour guide so this time, with no burning need to play tourist, we expressed a desire to take care of some errands. Today started with haircuts at Inspire Salon then on to Grand Traverse Mall. First stop was City Mac to address the fact that more than 60% of the storage on Karen’s iPhone is used by the System. When the tech was working on that we three went to Penney’s for a pair of Levi’s 505 jeans, the 1967 classic jeans, for Steve. Back at City Mac we learned we’d have to wait a little more for the phone so we got some Teriyaki Grill Express at the food court. Then on to Bookbrokers & Kramer’s Cafe for a cup of coffee and some comfy sofas. Ultimately the tech had to do a backup, erase, and restore. He identified Notes as the offending app. After so many hours hanging around the mall, we rewarded ourselves with some Cherries Moobilee at the famous Moomer’s Ice Cream, quiet time in Sally’s backyard, and dinner and drinks at Boone’s Long Lake Inn.

Cozumel & Grand Cayman

Aboard the Norwegian Jewel we’ve made stops in Cozumel, Mexico and Georgetown, Grand Cayman to explore beyond our previous experiences here. Soon we’ll be making our way to ports we’ve not yet explored in the Southern Caribbean.

Winter Magic in Medina

Winter Magic in Medina

By deliberate choice we were in Medina for all the winter holiday festivities from Candlelight Walk in the days before Thanksgiving through A Christmas Carol and A Celtic Christmas as well as an Alex Bevan Concert and a historic house tour all the way through Medina’s 31st Ice Festival but perhaps the highlight was the town hosting hundreds of folks whose homes and lives were devasted by Hurricane Helene at the A Promise of Christmas Event the middle of January. It’s an honor to be a part of this amazing community!
