It’s our first day of Summer Ramble 2019! Leaving Sugarcreek we headed west out of Tuscarawas County and through Holmes County noting how little we actually got out and about during our two weeks in Amish Country. We planned to stop briefly in Hayesville, Ohio to see the Sinking VW listed on our Roadside America app, but the turnoff looked way too tiny for our rig. A little while later though we did succeed in finding a geocache so we’re starting to get back into the groove. We asked questions at the Michigan Welcome Center and then changed our route to take us through Michigan’s Irish Hills. We’re spending tonight at Somerset Beach Campground since they have laundry facilities but tomorrow we’ll move on.

Wicked The Musical

Ever since its debut on Broadway the two of us have wanted to see “Wicked the Musical”. Today we realized that dream. Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
